The world's longest leg hair on a woman belongs to Dekel Jacobi whose leg hair on her inner right shin was verified at 13.84 cm (5.45 in) in 2018 in Haifa, Israel. The young woman stated that she discovered the hair in early 2017 and decided to keep it. She reported that she had noticed that the hair grew approximately 1 cm every month.

The record for the longest leg hair in the world is currently held by a male at 16.51 cms (6.5 inches). There is almost a 3 cm difference to the woman's title holder whose record stands at 13.84 cm (5.45 inches) however anything could happen in the future. The title of the Guinness Book of Records for the longest leg hair was held by Wesley Pemberton, a doctor from Dallas, Texas, USA. Wesley set the world record back in February 2008 on a TV Show in Madrid, Spain. The leg hair growing on his left calf was measured at 16.51 cm (6.5 in) long at that time.
Wesley, a redhaired male reported that he kept the hair in great condition including washing it with conditioner to keep it strong and healthy. He stated during the interview on the show that a lot of people were grossed out by the long hair but most thought it was pretty funny. Wesley said he had been finding it a good conversation piece but his wife was kind of embarassed about it. When she was asked she stated she thought he "would pluck it like a regular person."
Wesley had thoughts of that he was "going to pluck it and hang it next to the certificate” once he had officially had the leg hair measured for the title but later changed his mind deciding to continue to grow it instead.
